How much is the stipend, and when is it paid?

✔ The monthly stipend is R4,000, calculated based on a maximum of 22 working days per month at a rate of R132.82 per day.
✔ A 1% UIF deduction (R40) will be taken from the stipend each month. The Department of Basic Education contributes another 1% (R40), making a total UIF contribution of 2% (R80) per month.
✔ Stipends are paid on the last working day of each month. If this falls on a weekend or public holiday, payment should be reflected in your account on the Friday before the weekend or the working day before the holiday.
Payslips will be sent 2–3 days before payday, detailing your stipend amount and UIF contributions.
✔ Stipends are paid via EFT into the bank account registered in your name. No cash payments or third-party payments are allowed.
✔ If you’re paid through the Kwantu Payment System, your bank account will be validated against your ID number and account status.
