✔ Vacation Leave – Earn 1 day per full month worked. Approval is required before taking leave.
✔ Sick Leave – Earn 1 day per full month worked (after completing the first month). A medical certificate is required if absent for more than 1 day in a row or more than twice in 8 weeks. Sick leave does not carry over.
✔ Family Responsibility Leave – 3 days per term (if working 5 days per week) for the birth of a child, caring for a sick child, or the passing of a close family member (parent, spouse, grandparent, or child). Approval is required.
✔ Special Leave – 2 days per contract for exams (1 day for study + 1 day for the exam).
✔ Maternity Leave – 1 week with full pay. Additional days will be unpaid, and Assistants are advised to apply for UIF while on maternity leave.
